Rabies is a virus that attacks the central nervous system of mammals
(including humans). Common carriers of the disease include raccoons, skunks, foxes, bats. Transmission occurs most often through bites or contact with contaminated saliva on wounds or moist tissues of the mouth, nose or eyes.
